A desire to make a difference in our world today is admirable and a good thing. Although I am very hard on myself lately because I do not or haven’t been donating much of my time to any organization or to help someone else. I guess that’s not true completely when you consider my children, spouse, and Mother who is in a retirement home, but I still meet others who seem to have the time or make the time to do more. As I was thinking of this I realized that there are a lot of little things I can do along the way until my life is at the point of being able to donate more time. Don’t live with guilt or lack of sleep if you can’t spend a lot of time volunteering! Sometimes the little things you do make a big difference.
It’s the little things you do that might be what makes someone’s day better and/or easier. I always get a bonus of happiness or satisfaction when I experience an interaction with a kind person who displays good manners or puts a little effort into helping me with something that other people simply ignore. It reminds me that there are still good people in the world, especially after reading or hearing all the negativity in the news and it’s always welcome.
If everyone went about their day with the willingness to do the small things that would make a big difference to somebody else, the world would be a better place and the people involved would be encouraged, happier, and reminded of the possibilities of a kinder, lighthearted world.
