Grab a glass of wine and blanket with some friends by the fire and enjoy the holidays.
The old shutter serves as a holder for your blankets. A little bit of rustic adds some cabin charm. The wine letters are print setting blocks from long ago when the printing was all set up by hand. Notice the backwards N. The letters weren’t white but for the picture and effect, I wet them with a little water on my finger and dipped them lightly in flour. The frame below is also old and contains a print of a young girl. It was my Mother’s but when it fell off her wall and chipped some of the gold plaster she was ready to let it go and before she could get rid of it I asked for it. The chips add character, it is old after all. You can see more antiques and rustic charm here. I covered the print with the wreath for the holiday and to have some added depth. John brought the stone (that is keeping the shutter from sliding forward) home from a job and thinks it might be granite. I might be trying to put sealer on it later.
